On May 11, 2026, Thiru. P. Ayyakannu, President of the National South Indian Rivers Interlinking Farmers' Association, along with association executives, met the Hon'ble Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, Thiru. S. Joseph Vijay, at the Secretariat. They submitted a petition requesting the Chief Minister to take action to recover Rs. 317 crore in arrears related to the National Consumer Cooperative Federation from the Union Government. Following this, the Chief Minister instructed concerned officials to take necessary immediate steps to ensure the recovery of the said arrears within two weeks.
