Thiru. P. Ravichandran (age 36), a constable at Vellakovil Police Station, Tiruppur District, died on the spot after being hit by a fast-moving Xylo vehicle. He was repairing a road barrier on the Karur-Coimbatore National Highway near Kurukkathi Checkpost, which had been previously damaged by a lorry. Chief Minister Thiru. S. Joseph Vijay expressed deep shock and sorrow over the incident, stating that his death is an irreplaceable loss to the Tamil Nadu Police Department and his family. The Chief Minister extended his deepest condolences to the grieving family, relatives, and colleagues, and ordered a financial assistance of thirty lakh rupees to his family.
