Under the chairmanship of the Hon'ble Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, Thiru. S. Joseph Vijay, a review meeting was held at the Secretariat to discuss the functioning of the Municipal Administration and Water Supply Department, Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Department, and ensuring uninterrupted water supply during summer. In the meeting, the Chief Minister instructed immediate, war-footing action to resolve water supply issues in Chennai Metropolitan Corporation and all other districts, by utilizing tankers, establishing new borewells, and implementing alternative arrangements for smooth water distribution. He also advised all District Collectors to review water supply every Monday and undertake continuous monitoring. Furthermore, considering the upcoming monsoon season, he instructed Chennai Metropolitan Corporation and local bodies to expedite desilting and flood prevention works without delay.
