The International Institute of Tamil Studies (IITS), established by the Government of Tamil Nadu for the development of Tamil language and approved by Tamil University, Thanjavur, conducts various teaching and research activities including M.A. Tamil, Five Years Integrated Post Graduate M.A. in Tamil, and Ph.D. in Tamil. For the 2026-27 academic year, admissions are open for the Five Years Integrated P.G. M.A. in Tamil and M.A. Tamil programs. 15 selected students for these programs will receive a monthly scholarship of Rs. 2000 from the Government of Tamil Nadu.
