Hon'ble Minister for Agriculture and Farmers' Welfare Thiru R. Vinoth announces that interested Farmer Producer Organizations/Cluster Federations/Primary Agricultural Cooperative Societies/individuals can receive a subsidy of up to 25 lakh rupees for setting up pulse processing units under the "Mission for Self-sufficiency in Pulses".

To boost production of black gram, green gram, red gram, and cowpea and achieve self-sufficiency in pulses, the "Mission for Self-sufficiency in Pulses" is being implemented in Tamil Nadu by the Department of Agriculture with central and state contributions from the 2025-26 financial year. Under this scheme, a 33% subsidy, up to 25 lakh rupees, will be provided in the 2026-27 financial year for establishing pulse processing units to add value to the produced pulses.

Following inspections across quarries in Tamil Nadu under the orders of the Hon'ble Minister for Natural Resources, 67 quarries operating with violations have been temporarily shut down. Additionally, 469 vehicles involved in illegal mineral transport have been seized, and illegal mining has been identified in 78 locations.

For the academic year 2025-26, the pass rate for students in Adi Dravidar Welfare schools for 10th standard public examinations is 91.42%, an increase from the previous year, and for Tribal Welfare schools, it is 96.66%, which is 3% higher than the previous year and also higher than the state's overall pass rate of 94.31%.
