Water Release for Irrigation in Tiruppur District under Parambikulam Aliyar Project
The Tamil Nadu Government has approved the extension of the irrigation period and release of water from Thirumoorthy Dam for 94,521 acres in Tiruppur district for 36 days under the Parambikulam Aliyar Project, as per the Chief Minister's orders.

The Tamil Nadu Government, under the direction of Hon'ble Chief Minister Thiru. C. Joseph Vijay and with the guidance of Hon'ble Minister for Energy and Law Thiru. C.T.R. Nirmal Kumar, has issued promotion orders to 300 Assistant Engineers (Electrical) who joined between 2000 and 2002, elevating them to Executive Engineer posts. This historic and transparent move, a first of its kind for such a large number, resolved long-standing issues and delighted electricity board engineers.
