MoU signed between Tamil Nadu Electricity Board (TNEB Ltd) and IIT Madras for implementing world-class modern technology in Tamil Nadu Electricity Board, in the presence of Hon'ble Minister for Energy and Law, Mr. C.T.R. Nirmal Kumar.

An MoU was signed between TNEB Ltd and IIT Madras today (09.07.2026) in Chennai to strengthen Tamil Nadu's power grid, improve renewable energy integration, and enhance the reliability, efficiency, and quality of power services, in the presence of Hon'ble Minister for Energy and Law, Mr. C.T.R. Nirmal Kumar, and under the guidance of Chief Minister Mr. S. Joseph Vijay.

Tamil Nadu mandates all renewable power plants to share real-time generation data with the State Load Despatch Centre (SLDC) via SCADA within specified deadlines. Non-compliance will lead to penalties, including reduction in power calculation and exclusion from scheduling, as per the Tamil Nadu Electricity Grid Code 2026.
