Municipal Administration and Water Supply Department: On the orders of the Hon'ble Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, Thiru S. Joseph Vijay, a 24-hour uninterrupted water supply scheme for areas under Salem Corporation
Revised administrative approval for a 24-hour uninterrupted water supply scheme for areas under Salem Corporation has been granted for Rs. 1035.61 crore. The project agreement was signed with M/S.SUEZ Project International Private Limited on 19.06.2026.
Chief Minister Inspects Desalination Plants and Construction Work in Nemmeli and Perur
Chief Minister Thiru. S. Joseph Vijay inspected the operational 110 MLD and 150 MLD desalination plants in Nemmeli and the ongoing construction of a new 400 MLD desalination plant in Perur, valued at ₹5814.57 crore, to boost water supply for the Chennai Metropolitan Area.
