Minister Dr. T.K. Prabhu Reviews Geology and Mining Department's Progress and District Operations
As per the instructions of the Hon'ble Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, Hon'ble Minister for Natural Resources Dr. T.K. Prabhu conducted a review meeting today (12.06.2026) at the Commissionerate of Geology and Mining, Chennai, on various works and progress of the Department of Geology and Mining and the functioning of district officials.
Honorable Minister for Natural Resources Dr. T.K. Prabhu conducted a review with various association representatives to ensure transparency in the operations of stone quarries and crushers, discuss their practical problems and actions to be taken by the Department of Geology and Mining, and ensure the availability of construction materials at reasonable prices without scarcity.

Honorable Minister for Natural Resources, Dr. T.K. Prabhu, ordered the temporary closure of 23 stone quarries operating with irregularities in Virudhunagar district. A total of 76 quarries were surveyed using drones, and reports were obtained.
